See What a Penva Security Pentest Report Looks Like Redacted Sample, Real Findings

Most pentest providers won’t show you a sample report before you sign. Penva Security will – because how the report looks is the deliverable, and you should be able to evaluate it before procurement. This page is a redacted preview of an actual Penva Security report; the PDF download below is the full sample.

Report quality is part of the deliverable

A redacted sample experience that helps procurement, security and auditors understand exactly what they receive.

Quick Answer

How the report looks is part of the deliverable

Penva Security publishes a redacted sample report because procurement and security teams should be able to evaluate report quality before commissioning an engagement. Most pentest providers won’t show samples publicly – the standard answer is “we’ll share one after you sign an NDA.” We think that’s backwards.

This page is a preview of the sample. Three example findings demonstrate the depth, severity scoring, CWE mapping, OWASP test-case citation, and remediation guidance you’ll see in an actual Penva Security report. The full PDF (approximately 18 pages, downloadable below) includes the complete sample including executive summary, severity dashboard, methodology section and attestation letter.
Specific client identifiers, exact financial figures, full proof-of-concept payloads and any details that could enable client identification have been redacted. Everything else – finding format, severity calibration, methodology citation, attestation language – reflects actual Penva Security engagement reports.

Penetration Test Engagement Report

REDACTED CLIENT · B2B SaaS Multi-Tenant Platform
Section 01

Executive Summary

Penva Security conducted a grey-box penetration test of REDACTED‘s B2B SaaS multi-tenant platform between REDACTED. The engagement scope covered the web application, REST and GraphQL APIs, AWS cloud configuration, and SAML SSO integration across four user roles.
Section 02

Engagement Scope & Methodology

Scope tested: Web application (https://REDACTED), REST API endpoints (approximately 80 endpoints across customer-facing and admin-facing surfaces), GraphQL API (single endpoint, 40+ resolver types), AWS cloud configuration (single account, IAM and S3 in scope), SAML SSO integration with two identity providers.
Section 03

Sample Findings (3 of 23 shown)

The findings below are three representative samples – one Critical, one High, one Medium. Full engagement reports include all 23 findings with the same level of detail.
Section 04

CREST-Aligned Attestation

Every Penva Security engagement closes with a Letter of Attestation suitable for ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, APRA tripartite, IRAP and HIPAA audit evidence. The format adapts to the specific audit context.

FAQ

The Sample Report — Common Questions

Direct answers about how the sample relates to actual Penva Security engagement reports. Updated May 2026.

What's in the sample report PDF?
The sample PDF includes: a redacted executive summary (1-2 pages, plain-English), a severity dashboard showing finding counts by severity band, three example findings (one Critical, one High, one Medium) with full writeups including CVSS scoring, CWE mapping, OWASP references and remediation guidance, methodology citation section, appendix structure (showing what’s included without exposing client data), and a CREST-aligned attestation letter. The PDF is approximately 18 pages – roughly half the length of an actual Penva Security report.
Is this an actual past report or a fabricated one?
The sample is constructed from anonymised material drawn from actual Penva Security engagements. Finding format, severity calibration, CVSS scoring, CWE mapping, methodology citation, and attestation language all reflect real engagement documents. Specific client identifiers, exact financial impact figures, and identifying details have been redacted or generalised. The three sample findings shown are representative of actual finding patterns we identify – not invented scenarios.
Can I share the PDF with my procurement team?
Yes – the sample PDF is intended for procurement and security teams evaluating Penva Security as a pentest provider. Sharing it within your organisation is welcome and expected. Public redistribution (posting on a forum, including in a public RFP response, etc.) requires permission – email [email protected] if your use case extends beyond internal evaluation.
Why is some content in the sample redacted?
Three reasons. First, real client identifiers (URLs, account IDs, business names) are redacted to protect client confidentiality – this is consistent with Penva Security’s anonymous-by-policy approach. Second, full proof-of-concept payloads are summarised rather than published – publishing working exploit payloads against any real system, even an anonymised one, would be irresponsible. Third, exact infrastructure details that could enable identification are generalised to maintain the anonymisation.
Will my actual report look like this?
Yes, structurally identical. Your engagement report will follow the same template – executive summary, severity dashboard, per-finding writeups with the same metadata structure (ID, severity, CVSS, CWE, methodology reference, proof-of-concept, remediation), methodology citation, appendices, and attestation letter. The content will be specific to your engagement; the structure and quality bar is what the sample demonstrates.
How do you produce reports - is it AI-generated?
Reports are written by the CREST-certified testers who performed the engagement, not AI-generated. AI accelerates Penva Security’s reconnaissance and coverage phases; it does not write reports. Tester narratives, finding rationales, severity assessments, and remediation guidance all reflect human expert judgment. We use templated formatting for consistency, but the substantive content of every finding is written by the tester who identified it.
Can I get the sample in a different format?
PDF is the standard format because most procurement workflows expect PDF deliverables. We can provide the sample in Markdown or HTML format on request – useful if you want to evaluate how the report would integrate with your security tracking tools. For actual engagement reports, we typically deliver PDF (audit format) plus a structured findings file (CSV or JSON) for import into vulnerability-tracking systems.
Does the sample include the full engagement methodology section?
Yes – the methodology citation section in the sample is identical in structure to what appears in actual reports. It cites OWASP WSTG v4.2 test cases used, PTES phases applied, NIST 800-115 mapping where relevant, the specific scope tested, and the scope excluded with explicit reasoning. Auditors specifically look for this section, and it’s one of the clearest signals separating credible pentest reports from scanner-output documents.
What if I have detailed questions about the sample after reading it?
Email [email protected] with your questions, or book a 30-minute scoping call where we can walk through the sample and explain how an engagement specific to your context would differ. Many procurement teams use the sample as a discussion starter with the senior tester who would deliver the engagement – we welcome that conversation.
